From how many active users visit your site every day, to how Ads help your website and how can you improve it, Google Analytics has it all.

All of this sounds great, right? But what if you don’t know how to set up google analytics? Worry not. Here we will give you 3 easy steps on how to setup Google Analytics.

How to Setup Google Analytics

Since Google does not provide plugins for a specific platform, WordPress for example, this can be supplemented by a plugin. This plugin is called Monster Insights.

Monster Insights is a Google Analytics plugin for WordPress which can give you a Google Analytics dashboard and more. This plugin has over 2 million active installs as of this moment and one of the trusted plugins of WebContempo when it comes to Google Analytics.

Step 1 – Go to Plugin Directory

On your WP Admin dashboard, go to Plugins > Add New

Step 4 – Setup

After launching the plugin, you will be taken to the setup process. To complete, just simply mark the appropriate details of your website.

Step 4.1 – Authenticate Monster Insight (Issue with Connectivity)

In some cases, you will receive an “authentication error” message when trying to connect Monster Insights to Google Analytics. Don’t worry. It happens. This is usually because the google account that you used to connect to the plugin has not yet created a profile on Google Analytics which is also an easy thing to do.

You just need to go to https://analytics.google.com/ and proceed to setup google analytics profile for your account.

After creating a Google Analytics profile, click on “click here to try again” and connect your Google account that has the Google analytics profile then click on “Complete Connection”.

Step 5 – Finishing Setup

On the next steps of setting up Monster Insights, you can adjust the settings based on your preference, but we recommend it leaving as it is and just click on “Save and Continue”. Alternatively, if you don’t want some features shown on the setup process, you can simply click on “Skip this Step”. On the last step click on “Finish setup & Exit Wizard” to finish the setup process.

There should then be an “Insights” tab on the dashboard. Hover your mouse on it and click Reports. Here you can see the complete data of your website like page views, a list of most viewed pages on your website, and more!

And that is it! Google Analytics was launched back in the year 2005 and it has been very ground-breaking since. It has helped a lot of business and blog sites alike and for sure it can help you too.
